Mangalore: Young Avinash, a victim of Bollywood-style love triangle

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Apr 2: This is the story of Avinash, a youngster who put paid with his life for being at the wrong end of a love triangle. He was an enthusiastic youth with dreams in his eyes and responsibilities on his shoulders, while the love of his life worked in a call centre. A youth, who formed the third angle of this love story, has suddenly turned a villain and hence, been put behind the bars.

This story has not been picked from a Bollywood flick or a top of the chart tele-series. This is what happened to Avinash Poojary (21), son of Vidyananda Suvarna, a resident of Bola Kendottu Padavu in Karkala. Avinash fell in love with 20-year-old Sylvia (name changed), whose mother runs an electronic repair shop at Karnad, Mulky. Gaviranga alias Harish (20), who is said to have recently entered Sylvia’s life, and who is a native of Tiptur but currently residing at Mulihitlu in Mangalore, has been accused of murdering Avinash.

Accused Harish

Vidyananda Suvarna, who stayed at Badaguhitlu Bappanadu Mulky for several years in the past, operated an auto rickshaw for a living. He later shifted his family to a rented accommodation in K S Rao Nagar, Karnad. Thereafter, he built a house in a government-allotted site in Bola, and lived there with his wife, two sons, and a daughter. Out of his two sons, elder one, Avinash, left school after finishing eighth standard, and started supporting the family. His love life proved costly for the family, which is deprived of a son who used to shoulder responsibilities of running the family.

It is learnt that Avinash got acquainted with Sylvia from Kolachikambla when living in K S Rao Nagar. She used to attend a college in Mulky. Facebook accounts of Sylvia and Avinash stand as testimony to their mutual love. Avinash used to drive an auto rickshaw, tipper, and also rickshaw tempo. He had joined Gayatri Cashew Factory at Bola near Karkala as a driver. In course of time, he used to spend more and more time with Sylvia, who had joined a call centre in Mangalore after completing college education and started staying at a paying guest accommodation. He even had introduced her to his family members, and Sylvia reportedly told them that she was agreeable to marry him. After the family of Sylvia came to know about this affair, her mother reportedly warned Avinash and Sylvia to end their affair, but the lovers did not budge.

Harish, who used to drive a Tata Sumo vehicle operated by the company which runs the call centre where Sylvia worked, and took her in the vehicle to Mulky every day in the early hours after her duty, developed a liking for her. It is not yet known as to whether Sylvia reciprocated his love, or whether it was one-sided. Harish, who craved for the company of Sylvia, reportedly decided to eliminate Avinash, who had become a thorn in the flesh, and finally succeeded in his aim. In the meanwhile, Avinash had developed the suspicion that Sylvia was distancing from him, as her contact with him diminshed over a period of time. He also had a strong feeling that she was growing closer to Harish. It is said that Harish had posed threats to Avinash several times by phone.

Frustrated at the painstakingly slow progress in his efforts of coming closer to Sylvia, Harish reportedly hit his vehicle near Pavanje, Haleangady, against Avinash's bike on Tuesday April 1 morning after noticing that Avinash was waiting there for Sylvia. When Avinash came near the vehicle to question him, Harish allegedly drove his vehicle on him, and crushed Avinash under it, it is said.

Sensing that Sylvia was slithering away from him, Avinash, sometime back, had consumed poison with the aim of ending his life. However, after being treated at Wenlock Hospital, Mangalore for some days, he survived the suicide attempt. Avinash's parents recollect that Sylvia had rushed to the hospital then to console Avinash, but they now feel that it was a drama enacted to hoodwink their son.

It is said that Avinash had approached the call centre at Morgan's Gate in the city for exchanging Ugadi greetings with Sylvia, who worked there, on Monday March 31. It is said that when the security personnel called Sylvia, she came out and told them that she does not recognize Avinash. When Avinash, angered by this development, created a scene there, the security staff handed him over to Pandeshwar police station. He secured bail on personal surety of a friend in the city. It is said that he came to Pavanje on national highway 66 and waited for Sylvia’s arrival on Tuesday morning, as per a request made by her over cell phone.

Avinash’s friends claim that Sylvia, who was in love with Avinash since the last three years, chose to desert him suddenly and divert her love towards Tata Sumo driver, Harish, since the last eight months. They have demanded to name Sylvia as an accused in the case, alleging that Avinash was murdered as per a careful plan hatched in advance, on account of frustration at Avinash’s steadfast determination not to back out from the relationship at any cost.

The Mulky police have recorded that Avinash was killed after Harish hit the former’s motor bike with his four-wheeler, as per a complaint made by Vidyananda Suvarna. The police, who have arrested Harish, are gathering more information from him. They have also been questioning Sylvia to get to the root of the issue in its entirety, it is learnt. The investigation is being guided by deputy commissioner of police of the district crime branch, Vishnuvardhan, and circle inspector, Ramachandra Nayak.

We have seen how love changes due to desire and infatuation in recent times.. Its very bad to see such incidents happening in dk.
When desire controls the mind, they become prey to intolerant behavior of even destroying. According to me if anybody falls in love with a condition, its not pure love. Love is unconditional, has sacrificed, caring, no harm to anybody mainly parents (who are superior then the lover), no fight, understanding, no doubt towards him or her and finally need to marry and love should need end after marriage.
Modern films have created a mess on the relationship and younger generation never think before doing.. Its very important to have a deeper vision towards your life then wife, bcoz life is more important then wife and wife is just a part of your life to move on and not the life itself.. So students never think anything other then your life. You can be a part of the success only when you have a clear cut vision. God knows when your ready for marriage and he will decide the ONE person for your life since marriages are made in heaven, it will be foolishness to go against god's wish. I hope i made my point clear..

He was deeply in love with her.I learnt from other sources that he even paid for education and helped her to graduate. Even on Saturday he said he will help her with computer education. He had given up on her and on his way back home, never to see her again. But destiny had something else planned for him. She texted him and asked to wait for her where the unfortunate event took place. What an irony. This bi##h will rot in hell till eternity for sure. Bloody snake.

@allan dcosta , jeetendra hegde. Rick or taxi drivers and bus conductors always enjoy the company of girls. Main reason being , they get the chance to communicate , be it s or asking tickets. They can gel in easily and also they think less and act more. Not shy and more Gutsy.

I have seen a lot of cases like educated and good looking girls falling and getting married drivers and conductors. Remember , its about GUTS AND GLORY. Money and education come secondary.

Things can go wrong in a relationship due to greed , expectations and also circumstances. One should be humane enough to give time to the other half and do not dump or disconnect all of a sudden. Break ups are really bad and as there is no proper medicine , only support of family and friends , counselling , diverting the mind in some activity can only help. Also emotionally strong and accepting the pain with prayers can save from the crisis.

As the age old saying goes , if u really love a person , it does not matter , he or she is with u or not. The person always will be connected on a emotional level , even after a disputed break up.

The girls' role looks very active in persuading boy to commit the murder.

This is so sad. 'LOVE' The only mistake poor Avinash happen to commit. I so agree with the words of Henry, love triangle seems to be more dangerous than the Bermuda triangle. Let the culprits be put behind bars with heavy charges of taking a life away.

Its very sorry to hear this. But we have to remember one thing . we can love someone for years and years, but we cant expect them to be the same . because love is all about feelings. once u realize that u r partner is ignoring u just walk out because u cant force anyone to love u. just walk out . its difficult, but u got do it. IF U LOVE SOMEONE KEEP THEM LIKE FREE BIRD IF THEY WITH U THEY ARE URS IF NOT THEY ARE NOT MADE FOR U. If the partner is in ur side u can win anything if not u might win the fight but u will loose the war.
