Mangalore, Apr 10: “Janardhan Poojary is going to win by a lead of more than one lac votes. He is busy campaigning in Bantwal and having covered almost 60 places, he will finish his campaign today,” said Ivan D’Souza, general secretary, KPCC, on Wednesday April 9 at the district Congress office.

Kallige Taranath Shetty, Shahul Amid, and Ashith Pereira were present at the press conference.

“After Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Dakshina Kannada, the BJP has started spreading rumors that very few people gathered for his rally. Rukhmaya Poojary was the Vidhan Sabha  member for three years and he is saying that the BJP has given ‘Ananya Koduge’ to the people. We know what the BJP has done till now and he should first know the meaning of ‘Ananya’,” added D’Souza.

Briefing about the scam in compiling the voters’ list, he said, “In one house if there are 10 people, then in the voters’ list there is mention of up to 20 people. This is an unauthorized voters’ list. The voters’ list has been prepared by the BJP without any authorization.”

“When Shobha Karandlaje was the minister, she did not do anything for the people and now she is saying that she will work for them. Congress does not separate people; we have been helping the Billava society for a long time. We are the reason the voice of the Billavas has reached the Lok Sabha,” claimed D’Souza.

He challenged Rukhmaya Poojary to a talk with Shetty and Amid to discuss the development brought about by the BJP so far.

Shetty said that former Congress member Tejaswini is making false statements against the party.

“Nalin Kumar Kateel is campaigning for Narendra Modi and it is sure that he is going to lose to Janardhan Poojary,” he added.

Amid said that U T Khadar helped Endosulphan victims by releasing crores of money for their treatment and Shobha Karandlaje never helped them and is now lying for the sake of votes.
