Kundapur, Apr 13: "JD (S) is indulged in hectic campaigning in the Shimoga constituency and we will be deliver a suprising result," said JD (S) party election in charge D R Raju Karkal.
Speaking at a news conference in Kundapur he said that two rounds of campaigning is over in Byndoor constituency. Party leaders, actor Shivaraj Kumar, and film stars have participated in it. The third round of campaigning will take place on April 14 from Hemmadi. The campaign will be held in Hemmadi, Gangolli, Nada Guddeyangadi, Navunda, Koderi, Uppunda, Uppunda Madikal, Uppunda Valaga Mantap, Byndoor, Dombe, Shiru Kelapete, Shiru Melpete, Kalthodu and Jadkal Mudooru that day, he said.
JD (S) is leading in Shimoga. Our candidate Geetha Shivaraj Kumar is concerned about women. She has gained importance being former chief minister S Bangarappa’s daughter, Dr Raj family’s daughter in law, and free from selfishness.
The principles in the party, far sightedness of former prime minister H D Devegowda and former chief minister Kumaraswamy have influenced this election. Women in particular will support us, he said.
JD (S) Udupi convener N Manjayya Shetty spoke saying that former Prime Minister Deve Gowda had started programmes such as Ashraya and Annabhagya and they have only be colored. JD (S) is a powerful force in Byndoor constituency. We are prepared for straight fight. The party will face elections with confidence, he said.
"JD (S) will come out as strong political force after the elections. Our candidates are on the verge of winning in more than 15 constituencies," he said.
"The party has given a good candidate for Shimoga constituency. Geetha Shivaraj Kumar is contesting elections to serve the people and not for the love of money. She has the experience of having observed S Bangappa from close by," he stated.
"We are not giving money or such other things to the voters. We are facing elections for the development of the constituency," he said.
District chief secretary Srikanth Adiga, Byndoor Block president Ranjith Kumar Shetty, District minority unit president Mansoor Ibrahim Maravante, party leaders Kishore Ballal, Sandesh Bhat, Grama Panchayat member Annappa Poojary and others were present.
