Dubai, Apr 14 (Emirates 247) : Was it coincidence or destiny? Perhaps it was a mixture of both. For a mother and a boy to die in the same place and in the same way within three years of each other is one of the most tragic coincidences to happen in Dubai.
The 50-year-old Asian woman was walking on the pavement on Abu Hail road in Deira nearly three years ago when she was killed by a car which was banged by another vehicle that had suddenly swerved off the road.
On March 30, her 14-year-old son was cycling on the same road when he was run over by a car. He was rushed to hospital but died 12 days later.
“The boy died on Friday and our investigation showed it was a common mistake by the driver and the boy who made a wrong crossing,” said Salah Al Falasi, Dubai’s traffic prosector. “It was a tragic coincidence. He died on the same road where his mother died nearly three years ago.”
