Star-studded 'Tulu Parba' celebrated with grandeur

Muscat, Apr 15: ‘Talk Tulu, Laugh Tulu, Dance Tulu, Sing Tulu’ was the motto of the Tulu festival which was celebrated in splendor as ’Tulu Parba’ a first of its kind, was a complete Tulu treat for all the Kudlites.

Nonetheless, the non-Kudlites at the venue also enjoyed being a part of this celebration.  The atmosphere at Al Falaj on April 3 with the out flowing audience was stimulating and the air was thick with love of tradition and culture duly spreading the fragrance of Tulu Naad.

The event was organized by Srikanth Shetty, Suraj Rebello and Yuvaraj Salian 'the Triplets of Kudla Friends' Muscat in association with Namma TV.

Three times Filmfare awardee, legendary Kannada Film music director Guru Kiran’s elated musical treat, exclusively in ‘Tulu’,through the rendition of Tulu Films Songs from retro to the recent movies, including his own compositions for this festival in remixed beat,created an ecstatic mood at the venue. 

The female vocal was supported by a melodious singer Nayana Rajgopal who joined the troupe from Mangalore.  The dancers belonging to the group of DID fame Kishore Aman, danced along charmingly, to the tunes of Guru Kiran.  The recital had all the elements of an international standard.

Kishore Aman a popular dance star  from Zee TV - Dance India Dance Fame (8th among the finalists), performed various dance forms supported by his group dancers, which was a  treat to all the dance lovers. The item that swayed the audience and held them to their seat was ‘Kalinga Mardana’ a classical dance form.

Apt props and costume under UV light was blissful to watch.  The troupe also performed a medley with all the cultural forms of ‘Kudla’ such as Tangila, Bharathanatyam, Yakshagana, Tiger Dance and Bootha fused together with commentary describing the history and origin of the rich culture of our very own ‘Tulu Naad’.

The euphoric comedians from ‘Prashamsa’ performed ‘Bale Telipale’ a comedy drama. Episodes performed were produced and directed exclusively for the audience of Muscat and staged for the first time.  The trios of ‘Prashamsa’, Sandeep Shetty, Prasanna Kumar and Merwyn were uproarious in their performances through their roaring comedy act and dialogues and Sharath supporting them with his timely music effects. Vijayanath Shetty was complimented for drawing this profligate show at an international level; he was honored by Kudla friends Muscat. '

Naveen  of ‘Namma TV’ who joined the performing artists from Mangalore and the popular local talent  Umesh Jeppu added to the variety.  Their lyrical spontaneous oration filled with facile humour and unprompted quizzing of the audiences to flatter the language of ‘Tulu’ kicked off the fiesta.

Dr Shivasharan, the brain behind this extravaganza was hugely complimented for drawing this profligate show at an international level, especially for starting the journey of ‘Tulu Parba’ Gulf-wide, primarily through Muscat audience well supported by ‘Kudla Friends Muscat’ with wise planning and mastery execution, ‘Majan Events’ the official event partners of Kudla Friends Muscat, ensured that the event organized was well presented without any hick-ups at any stage of execution. Sri Ashok Suvarnaalso was instrumental in supporting this event.  Ramki of Bank Muscat was also a key delegate who supported the organizers to put up this macro event and was honored by KFM.

Namma TV Mega Event Sponsors ‘Citadel’ renowned builders from Mangalore were in town to witness the show.  The main sponsors were Property Developers from Mangalore and Khain Developers from Udupi – Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, India, who also witnessed the program and expressed their joy to see the huge audience that outpoured the venue. 

All the delegates and performers were felicitated with floral bouquets and mementos by the Trio of Kudla Friends Muscat.

'Tulu Parba’ was a grand celebration of tradition and culture amalgamated in the art forms of music, dance and drama, that will be superscripted in the minds of the Kudlites and will go down in the memory for a long period a a high profile show. All credit was rendered to Suraj, Srikanth and Yuvaraj of Kudla Friends Muscat for presenting such a event to the public of Kudla in Oman under the banner ‘Bale Telipale’a complete celebration as ‘Tulu Parba.
