Mangalore: Ramanath Rai assures immediate probe in Kabeer’s killing

Mangalore, Apr 21: “The state government has already ordered for a CID inquiry into Kabeer’s killing at the Tanikodu check post on Saturday April 19 by the ANF," said district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.

“The issue was discussed over the phone with the Chief Minister and Home Minister for conducting a serious and impartial probe into the matter. However, the issue will be briefly discussed face to face in a meeting with the Chief Minister and Home Minister," he added.

He was addressing the media at the District Congress office here on Monday April 21.
 
He said, “The state government has already announced a compensation for the victim. In the meeting, the issue of providing a higher compensation to victim’s family will be discussed. Being a very serious issue, a detailed probe will be done. The truth will be known.”
 
“Legal action will be taken against the offenders. If people wish for a probe by the higher investigation agency, the state government will arrange that too. The home minister was also asked to visit victim’s residence, which will soon be organized,” he concluded.
 
Ibrahim Kodijal, mayor Mahabala Marla, deputy mayor Kavitha Vijay Kumar Shettty, Shashidar Hegde, Praveen Chandra Alva, Ivan D’ Souza and others were present for the meet.
