Beltangady, Jun 20: Venugopal, a resident of Ujire who had sustained critical injuries in an accident at Dharmasthal last week, succumbed to injuries hospital on Monday June 19 late night.
Venugopal had been seriously injured when a government bus had collided with the service jeep he was travelling on Friday June 16 evening. As reported earlier 4 persons had died on the spot while 4 others had sustained serious injuries.
All the injured including Venugopal who was a tailor by profession and was working in Sunil Textiles at Ujire had been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore. However, Venugopal succumbed to the injuries in the hospital on Monday late night.
With this the total number of persons killed in the accident has gone up to 5.
