Kundapur, Apr 25: In an amusing incident, a married man who went 'missing'
from Mangalore International Airport on April 17, has been found in Neralakatte,
residing with a lady with whom he allegedly has a love affair.
Mohammad Khaleed, a resident of Gundmi who was supposed to fly to Dubai on
work went 'missing' from the airport, and a week later, was found in a house
with a woman.
Khaleed, a father of three children, reportedly fell in love with a lady from
a different religion. It was said that Khaleed had even gone to the extent of
marrying her after deserting his wife. When Khaleed’s family learnt that he was
involved in an extramarital affair they asked his friends to convince him on
snapping the relationship and going abroad.
On the advice of his friends, he got ready to go to Dubai on April 17 and
find work. He came to Bajpe airport and stayed back in the airport, telling his
family that there was a day's delay in the flight. During this time he changed
his mind and left the airport, and went to reunite with his lover.
Meanwhile, as the family back home did not hear from him again, they grew
anxious and filed a missing complaint in the Bajpe police station.
Khaleed's photos were published in newspapers and seeing them, the residents
of Neralakatte informed the police on the whereabouts of Khaleed, who had rented
a house to stay with the woman.
Earlier, his wife who was aware about the alleged affair had opposed and
warned him frequently to discontinue the relationship. Khaleed’s mother had even
attempted suicide over her son’s misdeeds, but he did not change, it is
said.
As his marital life was on the verge of breaking, his family and
friends spent money on visa to send him out of the country, it is learnt.
The woman with whom he is said to be in an affair is a resident of Bavikatte.
She is married to a man belonging to another caste but the marriage is said to
be an unhappy one. It is said that they are on the verge of a divorce and have
decided to stay separately.
Bajpe police arrived in Kundapur and identified him as the missing man. Further investigations are on, sources said.
