Moodbidri, Apr 28: In a hit-and-run case, a TATA Sumo that allegedly entered the Shobhavana Park injured the watchman while escaping from the park.

Sources say that in the wee hours of Saturday April 26, the sumo allegedly drove into the park, breaching the law. The watchman of Shobhavana Park, Sudhakar Poonja instructed the driver to stop the vehicle. In a bid to escape from the spot, the driver drove the vehicle recklessly, hit the watchman and escaped, ignoring the injured.

Poonja was later taken to a nearby hospital by the locals after he was found crying for help.
