Mangalore: Architect gets threat call supposedly from Dawood

Mangalore, Apr 30: Pramukh Rai, an architect by profession based in the city, reportedly received a threat call from a foreign country on Tuesday April 29 afternoon. The caller, who identified himself as Dawood Ibrahim, posed threats to Rai, who resides near Central Warehouse in Mannagudda in the city. 

Based on a complaint filed by Rai, a case was registered in Barke police station in this respect.

The caller, who made the call between 12.29 pm and 12.33 pm, is said to have identified himself as Dawood Ibrahim. ‘I warn you to settle your monetary disputes with Gerald Crasta. If you fail to abide by this instruction, I will get you eliminated through either Shantiprasad or Malbari,’ the caller is said to have told Rai.

The Barke police are trying to ascertain whether this call had actually been made by Dawood or someone else using his name to instill a sense of fear in the mind of the receiver. Investigation has been taken up.
