Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, has organized a camp for the diagnosis and treatment of gall bladder stones and has offered a special package of Rs 390 to patients with this problem. The camp will be held from Monday 26 June to Friday 30 June, informed Dr D P Saraswat, chief operating officer of the hospital in a press release.

The package, which actually costs Rs 900 but is given at a discount rate during the camp, includes consultation with surgeons, liver function test, ultrasound for gall stones and special tests like CBP  Dr D P Saraswat said that this clinic will enable people of this area to have awareness, alertness and care for avoiding future problems with gallbladder and gallstones.

The most common disorder of the biliary tract (gallbladder and bile ducts) is gallstones, caused by the abnormality in the function which makes the gallbladder to remove an excessive amount of water from the bile so that some of its constituents can no longer remain in solution, the release said.
