Mangalore, Jun 24: Week-long programme on 'World Stroke Day' was inaugurated at Fr Muller Hospital here on Saturday June 24 morning.


 It was inaugurated by Fr Baptist Menezes, director of Fr Muller Charitable Institutions.


The proceedings began with a prayer hymn by B Sc nursing students while Dr K S Bhat welcomed the gathering.


The programme will be held from Saturday June 24 to Sunday July 1.  The patients coming to hospital during these days will be given free registration, check-up of paralysis, free blood, urine and blood pressure.  If anyone is detected with symptoms of paralysis, they will be given free physiotherapy treatment in the physiotherapy department of Fr Muller Hospital up to July 1.


Fr Denis D'Sa, Sr Iline, Fr Lawrence D’Souza and others too were present on the occasion.   Dr Venkatesh proposed vote of thanks.
