Puttur, Jun 24: Unidentified thieves appeared to have made some revenue by breaking into the house of a retired revenue employee at Samettadka here the night before last.

While Sundar Holla, a retire revenue staff and his wife were on a visit to a nearby temple, the thieves did their unholy job. The culprits are said to have broken the latch of the back door and decamped with with two gold chains and two rings of total value Rs 24,000. The theft was discovered when the owners returned home from the temple.

A complaint in this connection has been filed with the Puttur town police.
