Moodbidri, Jun 25: Two children from a hostel ran away and were later found by the police and handed over back to the hostel authorities.
This episode took place in the hostel in Kadandale on B T Road on Saturday.
The children Shashikiran (14) and Shashikumar (12) were from Sakleshpur and were admitted to the hostel.
On Saturday evening a quarrel broke out among the children and the other residents of a hostel. When this reached the ears of the hostel warden, the duo were reprimanded.
Fearing further punishment, they ran away from the hostel.
The children reached Moodbidri town and were found asked for a job in a hotel, but found none.
The police later found them in the bus stand and inquired about their whereabouts on grounds of suspicious behaviour.
The children were later handed back to the custody of the hostel.
