Udupi, Jun 26: Two robbers who entered Ganesh Melting Works on Vadiraj Road near Carstreet here on Sunday June 25 night, have decamped with valuables worth Rs 1.88 lac.

The owner of Ganesh Melting Works Sushant hails from Gujarat, and on Sunday night he had gone to one of his relatives' house at Karkala.  So two of his employees Nitin and Sachin were in the shop.  They were working inside the shop, after closing the shutter.

After sometime, Nitin went out to have his dinner.  So Sachin stayed back, closed the door and continued working.  A little while later he opened the door after hearing someone knocking on the door.

As soon as he opened the door, two unidentified persons entered the shop and tied Sachin's mouth with a plaster.  They later decamped with Rs 1.10 lac in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 78,000.  The robbery came to light only after Nitin came to the shop.

A complaint has been filed with the town police in this regard.
