M'lore: Bunts Sangha to celebrate centenary on May 9

Mangalore, May 7: "The inaugural ceremony of the global Bunts Convention to mark the Centenary celebrations of the Bantara yaane Nadavara Maathr Sangha, Bunts Hostel will be held on Friday May 9 evening followed by the revealing of the Circle in Bunts Hostel, which also is constructed and maintained by the Buntara Sangha," said Malady Ajith Kumar Rai, president of Buntara Sangha, addressing the media in the press meet at Bunts Hostel Auditorium, here on Tuesday May 6.
"Buntara Sangha has a success story of 100 years and this year is indeed a golden year in the history of Buntara Sangha as we are celebrating its centenary celebrations. In addition to celebrations, the Sangha has also put forth various aims and goals to be fulfilled in the coming days, for the upliftment and development of the community," he said.
Various schemes have been planned to be carried out along the centenary year with the help and support from well wishers, thus making the motto and aims of the Sangha come true andmake this centenary year a most fruitful, successful and memorable one.
"The inaugural ceremony of the Global Bunts Convention is also to be a most significant one. I, Malady Ajith Kumar Rai am to preside over the occasion. Various well know personalities of the community namely B Ramanath Rai, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Jayaprakash Hegde, Shakunthala T Shetty, Mahabala Maarla, Vinay Hegde, A J Shetty, CA Shankar Shetty, Dr K R Shetty, Prakash Shetty, Aikala Harish Shetty, Amarnath Hegde, Dr M Mohan Alva, Shyam Shetty, Sarvottham Shetty, Enmakaje Sudhir Shetty, Gayathri Shetty and others to take part in the event, followed by the cultural events."
The renovated Bunts Circle is also to be revealed on the same day, various dignitaries B Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Mahabala Maarla, J R Lobo, K Monappa Bhandary, A B Ibrahim, Tulasi Maddineni, Dr Sharanappa S D, Shanady Ajith Kumar Hegde, Mohammed Nazeer, Afzal Ahmed Khan, Dr Ram Gopal Shetty and others to take part, he added.
Kenchanuru Somashekar Shetty, Meghnath Shetty, CA K Manmohan Shetty, Hemnath Shetty, Krishnaprasad Rai, Suresh Shetty, Jayaram, Sundar Shetty, Umesh Rai, Srinivas Alva and others were present on the occasion.
