Mooodbidri, Jun 26: To top the university degree examinations this year with 93 per cent is a great achievement for Alva's College, especially since the college has completed only 10 years in the field of education, said Dr M Mohan Alva speaking to press persons here.
He further said that 75 per cent of the prizes in athletics at university meets and 70 per cent of the inter-college cultural competitions are won by Alva's students at the university level.
Revealing the details of the degree results he said that out of 147 students who appeared for the examinations 136 have passed. Among them, 56 have secured distinction.
Prof Ratnakar Rao, principal of Alva's Senior Colleges, C N Madyastha, administrator, Ballal, convener were present at the press meet.
