Mangalore, Jun 27: Regular train passengers of the city-Chennai train route, being tired of spending 18-20 hours in journey, have something cheer about.
The city-Chennail Mail train service will be converted into a superfast service from July 1, said the railway officials here. Chennai-Mangalore train 6601 will henceforth go by number 2601 and Mangalore-Chennai will be known as 2602.
The current service arrives in Mangalore at 12-15 pm and leaves at 1-10 pm, said the sources.
