Bangalore, May 14: The State Government has decided to commence caste survey in the State from October 2014.
A chairman for theKarnataka Permanent Backward Classes Commission will be appointed soon, according to Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Wednesday, the minister said D N Naik, retired IAS officer, has been appointed as a Special Officer to the Commission.
Nearly 95 per cent of students of Kittur Rani Chennamma, Morarji Desai and Ekalayva model schools have passed in 10th standard examination in the year 2013-14.
A total of 100 schools have achieved cent per cent results in SSLC examination. A total 10,335 students have passed in first class, he said.
The minister said Rs 5 crore has been set aside for taking up welfare activities by the Karnataka Vishwakarma Community Development Corporation Limited.
