Doha: KMCA to host cricket tourney on May 20, 21 and 22

Doha, May 15: Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA) is all set to host its first cricket tournament 'Tipu Sultan Cup' on Tuesday May 20 at the old Ideal India school ground. 

The president of Qatar veterans cricket league and prominent Indian community leader M I Farid will be the chief guest while Shaavad Jedikkere, the world’s  12th rated  blind athlete from Karnataka will be the guest of honour for the inaugural ceremony  which is scheduled on May 20 at 6.30 pm. 
Karnataka based cricket teams of Qatar are Tulu Koota Qatar, Bunts Qatar, MCC, SKMWA, QDC and hosts KMCA will face the challenge to lift the Tipu Sultan Cup 2014. 


The tournament will be held on May 20, 21 and 22. The guest of honour for the colourful closing ceremony will be olympian, Arjuna awardee and former athlete Ashwini Nachappa. She will fly all the way from Bangalore to witness the final match and closing ceremony.

The chief guest for the closing ceremony will be Azim Abbas, president, Indian Business and Professional Network–Qatar.

M/s Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) and M/s Al-Salam Technical Services (STS Group) are the main sponsors of the tournament. 

The president of KMCA Niyaz Ahmed has appealed to all the cricket fans in Qatar to come and watch the spectacular tournament and extend their support to the participating teams.
