Dubai, May 14: 'Kannadigaru Dubai' in association with Scoop Events organized 'Sangeetha Sanje', a mesmerizing musical evening held recently at Gems Wellington Primary School Auditorium.
Chief guests Satish Venkataramana, MD of Chilly Willy Trading and Mohammad Mustafa along with the president of 'Kannadigaru Dubai' Mallikarjuna Gowda, Sadan Das and other committee members inaugurated the programme around 7 in the evening. The audience was welcomed by Mallikarjuna Gowda.
Shiv Kumar and his team comprising Deepa Hegde, Gururaj and Harish Sherigar were welcomed by Bhagya Sadan Das and Vidya Shivkumar, who compered the event. The team rendered various Kannada songs melodiously. They were greeted with a big round of applause from the audience who enjoyed every bit of it.
The main attraction of the evening was the performance by Dharwad-based Godkhindi trio - Pravin Godkhindi, a well-known flute player, his son Shadaj Godkhindi and brother Kiran Godkhindi. Jyothi Mallikarjuna introduced the Godkhindi family prior to their performance.
Puttur Narasimha Nayak who shared the stage said that Praveen Godkhindi was equal to the music legend Hari Prasad Chaurassia.
The melodious Yaman raga that flew out of Godkhindi's flute and the famous 'Krishna' chorus spellbound the audience .
Pravin's son Shadaj Godkhindi who played the drums, caught the attention of music lovers.
Kiran Godkhindi, the elder brother of Pravin, accompanied them rendering the essence of tabla with his magical fingers.
The trio who took the audience into the magical world of music, received a standing ovation.
The sponsors honoured the artistes with flowers and mementos.
Puttur Narasimha Nayak sang 'Yede Thumbi Hadidenu', a well-known song by Rashtrakavi G S Shivarudrappa, at the request of the audience.
The rib-tickling comedy show by the famous comedian Mysore Anand was another attraction of the evening. Listening to his witty jokes, the audience burst into laughter. His style of conveying serious social messages with the hint of comedy was quite impressive.
The artistes, sponsors and the media persons were honored by the organizers. Mallikarjuna Gowda proposed vote of thanks.
