KCWA Media Release

Kuwait, Jun 30: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) is proud to announce the celebration of “Korodacho Kurov” on Friday 25th August 2006 at Masra Hawally auditorium from 4:30 pm onwards. As announced earlier, KCWA has achieved a great milestone this year of crossing a over a CRORE of rupees in generous charity to the need children in pursuit of their education, regardless of any religion, caste and creed. KCWA has also contributed generously towards other humanitarian causes in India as well as in Kuwait.

A fun filled variety entertainment program has been planned to mark the occasion. The highlight of the evening will be performance by well known composer and singer Mike Simon, who will fly all the way from Mangalore for the show. Mike Simon is a popular figure in Kuwait as he was a resident of Kuwait before the invasion in 1990. His first music album was released while he was in Kuwait.

Leading singers of Kuwait Rony D’Cunha, Joyline, Lolita, Allen, Muriel, Thelma, Cynthia, Rita D’Souza and Jossy D’Cunha will also take part in the show along with Mike Simon. Apart from lively Konkani songs there will be various dance performances from leading dance groups of Kuwait Jovas XLNC for dance, Ocean Kids and other groups. Hilarious jokes and a konkani comedy skit will also be presented by leading local artists.

A Souvenir will also be released on this occasion to commemorate the day, which in turn will strengthen KCWA to carry out more noble deeds of educating poor children in future too. KCWA fondly commends and pays rich tribute to all the members, donors, sponsors, past presidents along with their managing committee members and all well wishers for their rich contribution towards the noble cause of KCWA, which made it possible to achieve this tremendous feat.
