Udupi, Jul 2: Severe nature of sea erosion observed in Mulur, Kaipunjal and Kote Udyavar villages near here has created fear in the lives of residents of the area.

The concreted fisheries road in Udyavar has developed cracks and several coconut trees have been devoured by the raging sea waves.

Sea erosion has been seen in high intensity near the mUlur house of MLA Lalaji Mendon. Stone wave-breakers placed to protect soil from erosion have themselves been washed away by the powerful waves.

The matter has been brought to the attention of local elected representatives. Early action is awaited by the residents of the area.
