Mangalore, May 18: " The district administration has proved that there are less defects in the voters' list. It has not received any complaints regarding missing voters in the list and has been successful in organizing a fair Loksabha election," said A B Ibrahim,  the deputy commissioner.

He was addressing the press meet to congratulate the election staff, people of the district and all the political parties for cooperating in the organization of a fair election.

He also thanked the election staff, political parties, security forces and NGO's for their cooperation.

He said " The district administration had arranged good facilities for the staff such as transportation, food and so on. It took an innovative step by asking the staff to assemble at 9:30 am instead of 8 am on the previous day of election; keeping in mind the convenience of the staff hailing from the rural areas. Model polling centres were opened and the updated statistics of polled votes were uploaded online. The DK district was the highest polling constituency in the state. Trans-genders also took part in the election enthusiastically. Feedback was also taken from the polling officers which was sent to the chief election officer. The live broadcast on Namma Kudla TV channel provided a means for people to watch the counting. This again was another innovative step, which will be suggested to the election commission."

He said that Dakshina Kannada was the first Loksabha constituency to announce the results at around 10 am and added that the district administration would inform about the advantage of online system in the information dissemination from the control room to the central server.
