Mangalore, May 18: Clashes broke out during a cricket match at Premnagar ground at Kulai here on Sunday May 18, resulting in injuries to some persons and damage to vehicles.

It is said that two teams of youths were playing a cricket match at the ground. During the match, a batsman hit the ball towards the boundary, but the fielding team argued that it did not touch the boundary line. Soon, arguments erupted between the two teams over the boundary mark, ending in clashes.

Sources said that as the arguments snowballed into a fight, outsiders too came to the spot and joined in the fight, and the situation threatened to turn into a communal clash.

In the clash that erupted, at least three or four persons were injured, two of whom were identified as Somu and Prajwal. They were admitted to Padmavati hospital in Suratkal. Some others were admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.

Following the incident, the angry youths damaged two bikes near Panambur, an auto rickshaw and a Maruti Omni.

Two cases, each at Panambur and Suratkal police stations, have been registered.

Police commissioner R Hitendra visited the spot and investigations are on. Security has been tightened in the area to prevent further trouble.

hei, we had a new start just few days back with a new dynamic leadership. Let's forget all these communal rivalries and all. It's a game and one team should have given up when it's going to the extreme. Once it's beyond your control, external personalities will interfere and you can not help at all. So, please... focus in to other areas and see how best we can contribute to build a great nation with the mew leadership.

Before the game turns into fight, they should cancel the match and leave venue and never play against that team.
Match is played for fun and enjoyment ! Its a Game.. not fight.
