Ajman: HR dept of Thumbay group wins talent management award

The HR department of the Thumbay group won the prestigious best talent management practice award in the 6th annual MENA HR excellence awards held here.

The award was presented as a part of  the 9th annual Human Asset Expansion Summit MENA 2014 which was held on May 14 and 15.





The award was bagged by the Thumbay group UAE for setting a standard for innovation and strategy in talent management. The precise criteria for this award category was the effective employee onboarding, ongoing training and development, coaching, mentoring, assessing and developing leadership capabilities, monitoring and measuring talent management, designing effective compensation and recognition system within the organization.

His Excellency Dr Omar A Al Nuaimi, the assistant under-secretary of policies and strategies, ministry of labour UAE, presented the awards. Suraj Padmanabhan, the assistant manager, learning and development and Sidhiq, the assistant manager HR Thumbay group received the award.

The summit connected HR professionals from leading organizations in the Middle East and North Africa regions.

Leading HR professionals and organizations were awarded and recognized for their achievements in the past 12 months. This specific platform was organized exclusively by the French business information group named Naseba.

The crucial features of the summit were keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops for the professionals to facilitate knowledge-sharing regarding the most pressing issues faced by the HR professionals in the region.

 A problem solving round table conference called 'Think Tank' was also the part of the agenda along with the networking sessions for the outstanding HR professionals who were present in the summit.

The summit also featured the 6th MENA HR excellence awards to recognize the outstanding achievements by individuals and organizations in advancing the HR function in their respective organizations.

Some of the award categories this year were HR professional of the year (for private and public sector), distinction in healthy workplace strategies-corporate wellness, distinction in employee engagement, distinction in learning and development employer of the year, HR champion of change, best nationalization initiative and best talent management practice.
