Mangalore, Jul 4: BJP Yuva Morcha activists on Monday July 3 staged protest and asked the MCC for eviction of petty shops from footpaths.

The activists staged protest by selling vegetables and fruits on the middle of the road in front Lady Goshen Hospital here on Monday morning.  Though the traffic was blocked for some time, the police intervened and cleared the way after a while.

Addressing the protesters MP D V Sadanand Gowda said that they are not against petty shop owners but they are against blocking the way on footpaths by way of business.  "This is why we seek eviction of these petty shops.  We also support the alternative measure that should be taken by MCC.

BJP leaders Vishweshwar Bhat Bangaradka, Muralidhar Bolar too addressed the protesters.  The protest was led by yuva morcha leaders Praveen Kumar Barke and Uday Madodi.
