As a very senior citizen of The District of Dakshina Kannada, it is my privilege to join scores of people to extend a warm and hearty welcome to Mr. Amrit Paul the new Inspector General of Police - Western range.

Here is the very first but positive statement that this officer has made:

"I will work for the betterment of the place I am in charge of" and this phrase means a lot. Mr. Paul's predecessors Mr. Alok Mohan and Mr. Pratap Redyy have done wonderful jobs under difficult circumstances. Judging from the past records of Mr. Paul it is certain that he will give an excellent account of himself under any circumstances. It is not that easy to oversee, control and manage four districts viz. Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Chickmagalur.

However with his years of experience and fund of knowledge it certain that Mr. Paul will ensure that he will achieve his objective namely THE BETTERMENT OF THE PEOPLE. This has been his objective - this has been his aim and this is what he will achieve.

On our part viz on the part of the citizens of the areas let us give Mr. Paul our whole-hearted support.

I wish you Mr. Paul a long, happy and fruitful tenure as the I.G.P. Western range.

    Joe Gonsalves.
