Kasargod, May 27: A young married woman was found hanging at her residence near Mogral Higher Secondary School here on Sunday May 25.
The deceased has been identified as Rafida (23), wife of Abdul Rahman.
Rafida's brother Rahim was scheduled to get married on June 1.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening. On hearing about the death, Rafida's relatives, suspecting foul play, reportedly entered the house at night and broke window panes, it is said.
The wedding of Rafida, daughter of Mogral Koppal resident Anwar, had taken place two years ago.
When her husband called out to her to accompany him to the market on Sunday evening, she did not respond. Growing anxious, he went in search and found their room locked. When he peeped through the window, he found her hanging.
As her relatives felt suspicious about the circumstances that led to her death, they barged into the house and created chaos.
The body was taken to Pariyaram Medical College for post-mortem.
