Mangalore, Jul 7: An interaction programme on illegal trafficking of women and children was held at district police guest house premises on Thursday July 6 afternoon.  The programme was jointly organized by PADI/VALORED (Value Oriented Education) and DEEDS (Development Education Services).

DK additional SP B S Lokesh Kumar, VALORED director Renny D'Souza, VALORED training coordinator Suresh Chitrapu, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) president Hilda Rayappan, DEEDS director Merlyn Martis, deputy director of department of women and child development Gertrude Veigas, CODP Shakuntala and others were present on the occasion.  Police officials from different stations of the district too were present.

The interaction expressed its apprehensions about the illegal trafficking of women and children in the district.  The issues regarding the illegal trafficking, it ambience and measures to stop such practices too were discussed at length at the meeting.
