Udupi: NCC celebrates golden jubilee

Udupi, May 28: ANOs and Cadets of 21st Karnataka BN NCC, Udupi celebrated the golden jubilee on Wednesday May 28 at Ravindra stadium, MGM College, here. The chief guest hoisted the flag and inaugurated the programme; the cadets cut the cake as a part of inauguration. 

Colonel S R Sriram, the group commander said, "Maintaining the history is important for successive troops. The contributions of the staff and their potentiality has helped in obtaining the desired goal. It is his/her sense of responsibility that makes a cadet a better citizen; the parents' support becomes important here."


"Every individual is talented; but NCC helps in developing additional skills," said Halanayak, the principal of MGM college.

He also said that religion should not interfere with an individual's patriotic feelings.

He added, " A courageous person will protect the nation without bothering about his life; he/she can be recognized by his/her discipline and not by the position and fame. The youth need delegators not directors."

Colonel P N Menon, Colonel Sanjeev Shukla, Manipal, Colonel Chandan, Major Radhakrishna, Captain Balakrishna Shetty, SMS college and other ex-servicemen were present.

Basavraj S Givari welcomed the gatherings.
