Udupi / Moodubelle, Jul 9: The Inauguration of the Third Annual General Body Meeting of ICYM, Udupi District Youth Council was held in St. Lawrence Parish Hall, Moodubelle at 10 am on Sunday.

Episcopal vicar of Udupi zone Dr Valerian D’Souza inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. In his Inaugural speech he said “Leaders are not born, but are made. There is enough guidance available for the youth nowadays. He stressed on the motto of ICYM, 'To lead, to serve and to shine'. Serving in ICYM is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a maximum period of 10 years in ones’ life."

He requested the youth to make the best use of this opportunity and become good leaders of the present and future. Valueless life has no meaning. So youth have to cultivate values of life and need to give importance for spiritual growth. Before ending his speech, he asked the youth to be peaceful, patient, selfless and co-operate with each other.
 
District president Raviraj D’souza welcomed the gathering, Cup secretary Harun Mathias proposed vote of thanks.

 General secretary Michael Rodrigues, director Fr Peter Pinto and lady animator Sr Roseline Periera were present on the dais. Cyprian Castelino and Flossy Fernandes compered the programme. About 300 youth from various ICYM units of Udupi district were present.

Third Annual General Meeting

District president Raviraj D’Souza presided over the meeting. General secretary Michael Rodrigues presented the Annual Report of 2005-06. Cup secretary Harun Mathias presented the Cup Report of 2005-06.

District treasurer Melwyn Pernal presented Statement of Accounts of 2005-06. Director Fr Peter conducted the office-bearers election for the year 2006-07. Lady animator Sr Roseline, vice president Praneeth D’Souza, lady vice president Jennifer Lobo, nominated member Kennil Aranha, former president Johnson Miranda were present on the dais.
