Mumbai, May 30: Jitendra Awhad was inducted as a minister in the Maharashtra cabinet in a brief cabinet expansion.

Governor K Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Jitendra Awhad as a minister at the swearing-in ceremony held at Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.


Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Shivajirao Deshmukh, speaker of Legislative Assembly Dilip Walse Patil, PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal, home minister R R Patil, members of Maharashtra State Legislature and senior government officials were present on the occasion.
