Udupi, Jul 10: District in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya, MP Manorama Madhwaraj, MLA K Raghupati Bhat and Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon have extended their full support for the setting up of the windmill production plant by Suzlon Infrastructure Ltd.

They were speaking at the public information meeting held at Mahalakshmi Auditorium at Ucchila near here on Sunday July 9.

Suzlon project manager V S Pandya and Alim placed before the gathering information about the proposed plant through slides.  Later speaking district in-charge minister Dr V S Acharya said that setting up of Suzlon in Special Economic Zone (Energy) would increase employment opportunities.  As per the given information the plant is a '"zero pollution" and "zero effluent" and would provide employment to nearly 5,000 people.  The first unit of the project would come into existence by January 2007.

Yellur GP president Yashwant Shetty, Yermal GP president Sathish Salian, Yuvajana Jagruti Samiti, Padubidri president Jeetendra Furtado, Nandikur Janajagruti Samiti president Lakshman Shetty, deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj etc were also present on the occasion.
