Mangalore, Jul 11: In a mysterious incident Ulaibettu gram panchayat member Puttu Monu (42) has gone missing from Saturday July 8.

Puttu Monu had won the panchayat seat as an independent candidate after he had failed to get a Congress seat.  Apart from his political affiliations, he was known in the surrounding areas for his social activities and involvement in social causes. The people also said that when it came to misunderstandings, problems etc, he was the perfect peacemaker rising always above caste, creed and religion.

On Saturday he had gone to the city from where he is said to have gone to Mudipu on some personal work.  But thereafter he did not come home.  Though his family members tried to know about his whereabouts, they did not attain any success in that.  They also looked for him in relatives' and friends' houses, but in vain.

Finally they have now lodged a complaint with the Kankanady police.
