UAE : Dad's hug saves kid’s life in Ras Al Khaimah car crash

Dubai, Jun 5 (Emirates 247) : A four-year-old Egyptian boy emerged from a serious car crash in Ras Al Khaimah with slight leg injuries after he was protectively hugged by his father who was driving the vehicle, according to police in the northern emirate.

The father was driving his car on Wikalat Road and his son was seated next to him when the vehicle swerved off the road because of high speed and hit two cars parked in that area. It then flew off and banged into another two vehicles.

Acting spontaneously to protect his son, the father instantly hugged the boy as both of them did not have the seat belts on.

“The little boy narrowly escaped death…he was seated in the front seat and should have been placed on a children’s seat in the back or at least should have his seat belt fastened…his father also did not have his seat belt on,” a police source said, quoted by the Dubai-based Arabic language daily Emarat Alyoum.

The source said the boy suffered from light leg injuries while his father had chest pain and that both were taken to hospital.
