Udupi, Jun 5: MLA Pramod Madhwaraj organized a press meet on Wednesday June 4 at the Press Club.
Addressing the media he said that an amount of Rs 25 crores has been planned under the special grant for ‘Amrita Mahotsav’ out of which Rs 10 crores were released in 2011.
He urged the CM to release the fund of Rs 15 crores at the soonest.
He said that the Malpe—Padukere bridge was incomplete while the Board High School was partially completed and the road was in progress.
He also said that the funds for ‘Nagarothana Phase–II’ was released.
“In total, Rs 72 crores were released to the state; Rs 31 crores were utilized in the district. The district is first in terms of city progress while Mangalore comes second and the government released a grant of Rs 10 crores. Within seven months, Rs 17 crores have been paid by the government,” added Madhwaraj.
“In the same phase, Kundapur, Karkala and Saligrama have got Rs 5 crores each. Under the PWD, a lot of progressive works have been done from the Manipal Syndicate turning point to the Tiger Circle where the road has been tarred while from Kalyanpur to Havanje, the road has been completed,” he added.
Shrikanth Rao, the municipal commissioner, Yuvaraj, the CMC president, Amrithakrishnamurty, the CMC vice-president and Selina Karkada, the standing committee member were present.
