Bantwal: Youth drowns in Netravati river

Bantwal, Jun 9: In an accident that occurred here, a youth who got into the Netravati river to have a bath lost his life. The incident occurred on Sunday June 8 at Malai Bettu of Sajipa Munnoor Village.

The deceased has been identified as Naushad (20) son of Mohammed, a resident of Gandodi Rice Mill, B C Road. Other three youth who got down into the river have escaped.


Naushad who had been to his relatives house in Malai Bettu Sajipa Mannoor, went to the river bank for a bath, along with his three friends Naufal, Shabeer and Naufal.

It is learnt that Naushad accidentally slipped into the river. The efforts by his friends to save him also failed.

It is learnt that his friends started to raise their voice to gather the public. With the help of locals, Naushad was pulled out of the water, but was already dead by then.

A case has been registered in the Bantwal police station.
 
Naushad used to sell flowers at BC Road, Kaikamba. It is learnt that he went to his relatives house to play cricket and after that he was tired so he went to have a bath in river along with his friends.
