Mangalore: Thives sneak into house; jewellery worth Rs 3.5 lacs stolen

Mangalore, June 11: Jewellery worth Rs 3.50 lac was stolen when theives sneaked into a house while the family members were sleeping. The incident occurred at Thenkamijaru village in Kandelbettu on Monday June 9.

The incident was reported in the house of Diwakar, a resident of Thenkamijaru. There were nine members in the house. All of them went to sleep at around 11 pm. On Tuesday morning, at around 6 am, when Diwakar woke up from sleep, he noticed the latch of the back door was broken and the gold ornament boxes were strewn on the  floor. To clear his doubt, he searched for the jewellery in the cupboard and came to know about the theft. 

As the key was in the cupboard, the thieves found it easy to open it.

There is a doubt that the thieves entered the house by removing the back door latch through the window using some equipment.

Diwakar has filed a case and Moodbidri police are investigating.

    so sad every time to read that in almost every house theft taken place is,thieves had entered houses through back door opening,latches takingout.now thieves know it is made easyierthrough backdoor.so why no one thinks of first securing backdoor intensively than the front door.you can bring up a heavy wooden peace across the door from inside that make the door only from inside to open either by Lifting or lock with a key.?how come thieves make a cupboard open when so many People are inside and sleeping?Do they use any sprays or something?sad so many thefts are taking place and no clues It is better to Keep Gold elsewhere as in cupboard.
