Udupi, Jun 11: Lokayukta officials from Uttara Kannada district raided the house of assistant conservator of forests, Ashok Bhat, here on Wednesday June 11 and reportedly recovered cash, documents, and gold ornaments.
A team of officials led by Lokayukta superintendent of police, Siddanagouda, swooped on Bhat's rented residence at Budnar here. Bhat presently is working as assistant conservator of forests at Mundgod near Honnavar. He had recently rented a house in Udupi.
It is learnt that a Lokayukta teams also raided six different places in Uttara Kannada district, including Bhat's residence at Mundgod in Honnavar taluk, simultaneously.
It is learnt that Bhat had rented a house here to facilitate studies of his daughter. His wife and daughter normally stay here, while Bhat works at Mundgod.
The team reportedly found Rs 22,000 in cash, 200 grams of gold ornaments and 72 grams of silver valuables. The team is said to have been verifying certain documents found by it during the raid.
