Mangalore, Jun 13: “A book to an author is like a child to a mother. This book is leaping into the future, but I am still living in the past. I wish I had the expertise with which I could have brought out a magazine like this. Technology by itself cannot bring out an amazing book. The help of a human is greatly required,” said Dr Michael Lobo, genealogist and author after launching a new magazine ‘Mullerpulse 2014 Imprint’ of Fr Muller Medical College on Thursday June 12 at Decennial Memorial Hall, FMMC, Mangalore.
Before the release of the magazine, staff editor Dr Nicole Pereira welcomed the dignitaries and Fr Rudolph Ravi D'Sa introduced the guest to the audience.
Fr Patrick Rodrigues in his presidential address congratulated the editorial team on their job and said, “Writing makes a man perfect. This magazine has given a chance to the staff as well as the students to cultivate their talents."
He added, "Writing an article is not an easy job. We, doctors and physicians, are not at all good writers. And sometimes, people cannot make out what we write.”
FMMC dean Dr J P Alva handed over the memento to Dr Michael Lobo.
Student editor Neeti Luke proposed the vote of thanks.
