Beltangady,Jun 15:Suresh (45) from Kadaba in Puttur taluk was killed on the night of Saturday reportedly by his father-in-law. The incident took place near the fair price shop run by a cooperative society at Miyyar in Puduvettu village in the taluk.
Some locals said that the two had differences of opinion over some issues, and had quarrelled with each other prior to this murder. Heated argument between the duo culminated in the murder of Suresh.
The suspect has been identified as Kuttappan alias Narayan. Suresh was on a visit to his father-in-law's family, and had come there on Saturday, sources said.
Senior police officers visited the spot and directed investigation. The policemen, who have begun an investigation, are yet to make any arrests.
