Typhoon Hagibis affects 13,000 in China


Beijing, June 16 (IANS): Around 13,000 people have been evacuated after typhoon Hagibis hit areas in south China, authorities said Monday.

The tropical storm, China's first in 2014, hit the coast of Haojiang sistrict in Guandong province at 4.50 p.m. Sunday, bringing violent downpours, Xinhua reported.

Torrential rain hit 14 villages in two townships, resulting in the relocation of more than 13,000 residents.
