Udupi, Jun 18: Multifaceted industrialist Manohar S Shetty, was on Tuesday June 17 felicitated with ‘Samaja Seva Durandhara’ award by Sri Laxmivaratheerta Swamiji, Shiroor Math, for being chosen for the Aryabhata International Award and in recognition of his achievements and social service. The programme was held at Shiroor Math, Udupi.
The Swamiji blessed him and said, "It is a matter of pride for Udupi city. This is a recognition of his immense success. He has got the award for his effort and hard work."
Simultaneously, Astro Mohan, noted photographer and Aryabhatta International Award nominee, was also honoured by Laxmivaratheertha Swami on the auspicious occasion.
Jerry Vincent Dias, president, Udupi Builders’ Association, U R Sabhapathi, former MLA, and locals were present on the occasion.
About Manohar S Shetty
Manohar Shetty is a well-known businessman, proprietor of Sai Radha Developers, and has contributed a lot to various sectors such as industries, health, medicine, accommodation, employment, Ayurveda, communication, automobiles, hospitality, and tourism.
He was born to late Sundar K Shetty and late Radha S Shetty on July 30, 1965. He is married to Anuradha and has two children—Siddartha and Sharanam.

He is also rendering his services to various institutions. At present he is the president of the coastal tourist, district chemist and druggist association, secretary of CREDAI, trustee of Radhasundar Shetty Charitable Trust, vice-president of Bunt’s Youth Club Kaup, honorary president of Rangasthal Seva Trust, as well as director in Adithya Co-operative Society, and Ramakrishna Credit Co-operative Society.
There are 600 employees working in his organizations including 24x7 shops in Mangalore, reconstruction of ancient homes and preservation of ancient designs. He has received multiple business excellence awards and certificates for his excellent service.
He has been graded first in customer satisfaction and the two-wheeler business turnover in the market.
Through his social commitment and service, he was chosen for the Aryabhata International Award 2013 by Aryabhatta Institution.
