Kundapur: Man killed as truck rams into two-wheeler at Beejady

Kundapur, Jun 19: A man was killed on the spot after a truck rammed into his Honda Activa at Beejady here on Thursday June 19.

The deceased has been identified as Mahabaleshwara Bhat (52), a resident near Hiri Mahalingeshwar temple, Kota.

Bhat was crossing the road on his two-wheeler, when a truck plying from Ankola towards Udupi hit him, killing him instantly.

The truck driver escaped fled the spot soon after the accident. However, eyewitnesses said that he was not at fault and had tried to avoid the collision.

Mahableshwara Bhat was a cook by profession.

He leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

Kundapur traffic police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

    Can't make out whether it is double- road or triple-road by seeing the pics 1,2 or 3? Trees gone...can't know when santhekatte or aakashvaani passed by due to these new roads!!!

    By looking at the rate of accidents,it seems coastal line peoples are better off with the pathole ridden roads of earlier..

    congress is responsible for these accidents as these roads with no plans were laid down by congress govt. long ago. congress had sown the seeds of death for this country I am not making it a political issue but it is a fact that congress is responsible wholly for all the ills of this country. Why is aloohol licensed by govt even though so many people and families suffer? congress govt wanted tax so it continued alcohol licensing.
