Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 22: A majority of bank employees in the country will go on strike on July 28, in response to a call by bank unions, protesting against the Central Government's policy of bank privatisation and outsourcing.
The strike call was given by the All India Bank Employees Association, the All India Bank Officers' Association and the Bank Employees' Federation of India, union leaders K Chandrasekharan Nair and Jacob Mathew told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram.
"People's money will be exposed to manipulation and speculation by foreign capital and outsourcing will affect the jobs of bank employees," Nair said.
Outsourcing would endanger the secrecy and security of the customers' transactions, he added.
