Udupi, Jun 20: The district unit of the BJP expressed discontent with the fact that Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje was not invited to the Kannada Sahitya Parisha meet, despite being in the constituency.

“At least for the sake of formality, the Kannada Sahitya Parishad and welcoming committee of 9th Sahitya Samelana should have invited MP Shobha Karandlaje to the literary meet,” said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, Udupi district BJP unit, condemning this move of the Parishad.

He also said that MP Shobha Karandlaje is on a tour of the district but at the least, she should have been invited and given an invitation card to the meet.

“This move by representatives of welcoming committee and representative of Parishad is sad. BJP will condemn this move of the Parishad for neglecting the MP,” added Hegde.

He said that the Parishad should treat everyone equally without playing politics in its activities.
