Mangalore: ABVP urges govt to distribute text books soon

Mangalore, Jun 24: Urging the distribution of text books to pre-university students, the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest and formed a human chain at PVS circle here on Tuesday June 24.

The state secretary of ABVP Ramesh addressed the gathering and condemned the delay in distribution of text books.












He said, "In spite of warning the state government, text books have not been made available in the market for nine lac pre-university students. As per the information, only seven lac text books have been printed and 38 lac more text books are yet to be printed. The education minister has addressed the legislative assembly and has assured that the text books will be distributed within ten days, but with the existing system it is impossible to do so."

"Hence the government has to distribute the task of printing to various printing presses and pave way for the education of the students. If the text books are not distributed on time, the government has to face the consequences as it is the question of the future of nine lac students state wide," he added.

Students Jayesh and Ananth spoke about the inconvenience they face due to the unavailability of text books.

Anant said, "Exams commence from August. It is really not possible to study since we do not have the text books. This also results in delay of portions and indirectly leads to stress on the students. The government has to distribute the text books immediately."

State joint secretary Anushka Kottari, city ABVP secretary Chetan, Prateeksha and others were present during the protest.

    It is a chronic disease of our Govt.every year the same .Not giving out books at time of School opening.They have a year for preparing.at our time also was same and it will remain the same.why cant they give the same books for the next year.when they are able to print for voting advt.and all needed they can do the same for School.afterall School children are suffering first with books ,second at the end results.what this govt is doin g is god alone knows.Nothing functions properly.
