Udupi, Jul 25: Plywood Yogish (43), one of the prime accused in the sensational Alevoor Prabhakar Acharya murder case died in KMC Hospital here on Tuesday July 25 morning.
Plywood Yogish's name had been linked with the murder of Alevoor Prabhakar Acharya. Following this, he was arrested too. But he was later released on bail. Eversince he was living in his house at Kolalgiri - Uppoor near here.
Thereafter his name had cropped up in several criminal cases. In 1998 he had been charged of hiding one of the noted underworld dons in his house. When police raided his house, they had traced the said don along with two sabres.
Yet Yogish had managed to keep himself away from some infamous cases and incident that rocked the taluk in the recent past. It was mainly due to his ill health. He was under treatment for sometime now. Recently he had been admitted to hospital where he breathed his last on Tuesday morning.
He was running a plywood shop at Maruthi Veethika here owing to which he later came to be known as "Plywood Yogish."
With this two prime accused in the Alevoor Prabhakar Acharya murder case have died. Earlier another accused Narayana had died in the police custody. The case is still pending against the rest.
