Media Release by KCA

Bangalore, July 25: 39th AGM of Konkan Catholic Association , Mathikere, Bangalore was held at Konkan Bhavan , Mathikere, Bangalore .  Rev. Fr. Ratan offered holy mass in Konkani.  Meeting started at 11:15 am.

President, Charles Gomes welcomed all the members and guests. 


After the AGM, Adrian D’souza, Managing Director of Deccan Group of companies, Rev. Fr. Melvin Pinto , Principal of St. Joseph’s Indian High School and Jr.College, Richard Louis , Kannada Film Script writer and humourist and Richard Vincent D’souza , Joint commissioner for Transport , were honoured and conferred with honorary membership.     Chairman of the Federation of Konkani Catholic association Valerian Fernandes was also present.

Children of KCA members who have excelled academically were also awarded. Maxim Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.  


KCA, is one of the oldest association in Bangalore, having about 600 members. Today KCA is the only Konkani Catholic Association in Bangalore, to own a building. Thanks to the vision of its founder members. Past president Late A.V. Rego was instrumental in building this association in the year 1966. Late H. A.Fatrao was the founder President .  KCA runs a hostel, giving accommodation to the youth coming from Mangalore at almost free of cost (just collecting nominal charges towards electricity and water). More than 1000 boys have taken benefit of this.
